You Do You: A word of encouragement

I was attending the Bible study and fellowship group I belong to one Sunday and as we began studying, we talked of Deborah. She was a prophetess and a judge according to scripture. It says in Judges 4 that “the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD after Ehud died. And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin the king of Canin.” (Vs 1-2)

And Deborah judged them during this time. Nowhere does it say she did this by default. Nowhere does it say it was forced on them. It says “the people of Israel came up to her for judgement”. (vs5)

At a time when women were property and had no rights, she was sought out for council. When she would be at home tending children, she led Barak into war against Sisera and his 900 chariots.

Here’s the take away.

You do you.

If you have the Holy Spirit residing in you, you have been given gifts. You have been given a mission. Go do it!! Go be the God ordained person God intended for you to be as He was forming you in the womb. Let nothing stop you from doing the will of God. As the speaker was saying Sunday, “What you are born into does not determine what is in you. God is bigger than our history and more concerned with our destiny.”

What are you waiting for? With God, you’ve got this!
