Where You Go, I Will Go

Ruth

How beautiful that God would redeem us all, we need only to listen and be faithful. God had his chosen people, the ones through which Jesus would surely come; but that by no means meant those were the only ones he loved. Ruth was a Moabite. If you recall, the moabites came from Lots daughters getting him drunk in a cave and having their way with him so they could produce offspring. That was her lineage. They worshipped many false gods. But Ruth turned and clung to Naomi after her husband’s death. In these famous words she went back to Bethlehem with Naomi when she could have gone back to her mom and friends,(1:16) “For where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people will be my people, and your God, my God.” God blessed Ruth and brought her to the promised people. Not only that, she became the grandmother of David. Yes, THAT David! What a beautiful example of Gods love and redeeming grace. No matter who you are, where you come from, your family, background, or past. If you will turn to God and trust Him; He is there to catch you; to use you; to love you and protect you. (4:15a)”He shall be to you a restorer of life...”
