Proverbs 22: How Do You Live?

Before I get into this proverb, did you notice vs 28? I was so excited to see this verse in light of what our country is doing to itself right now. “Do not move the amoeba landmark that your fathers have set.” Can people not quake your and read scripture and see where we are headed?!?!?! Anyway. Off my soapbox and onto Proverbs 22:

How do we live? Isn’t that the entire theme of proverbs? How do we live? Thirty sayings and verse after verse and it all comes down to this:

Love justice and love well. Love good over money.

Parents train your children - that is your job. They are not your friends but an inheritance and treasure given to you by God to raise up to be champions for HIM and to carry the torch of faith to others (then they will be your friend and more so, honored by you) vs 6,15 “Train up a child in the way he should go even when he is old he will not depart from it. Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline drives him far from it.”

Be kind to the poor, they are loved by God just as much as you are vs2, “the rich and the poor meet together; the LORD is Maker of them all.”

We become who we associate with so make sure to make friendships with honorable and upright people who love the Lord. Vs 24 “Make no friendship with a man give to to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.”

Money is tricky, we are not to lend it or borrow it - so many reasons why!

It’s all right here, in His love letter to us.

Sum it up simply: Do justice, Love mercy, Walk humbly every day WITH our GOD.
