“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed”, vs 17. Mother Theresa would say to everyone she would meet when they would visit, “What are you doing for the poor?” What ARE we doing? What CAN we do? God forbid we say we are too busy - HE wasn’t too busy for us. And when we do - WHO are we really doing it for? Because, let’s be honest, if we are really doing it for the Lord, we won’t tell anyone, HE already knows.
Verses 21tells us, “Many are the plans in the minds of man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” It doesn’t matter what you THINK you will do for the lord - He will accomplish what He wants you to do. Ever hear the saying - “wanna make God laugh, tell him YOUR plans 😂”. To truly know what God wants, it is imperative we be in communion with Him. And, then it is a whole other thing to obey. We must recognize the sovereign presence of God in our lives, and then obey it. "Trust and obey, for there's no other way, to be happy in Jesus, than to trust and obey." truer words there never were.
Are you truly happy in Jesus? If not, you may want to check those two things.
