Galatians 1:11-24 Back to the Original
George Muller had one book on his desk and is it said he read it three hundred times. That book was the Bible.
Vs 11-12 ”For I would have you know brothers that the gospel that was preached by me is not mans gospel. For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ.”
George ran one of, if not the first, orphanage in England and relied on the good will of others and grace of God. It is said that they had no milk for breakfast. As Mr Muller was praying over breakfast he thanked God for the milk they were about to receive and there was a knock at the door. The milk man stood with milk for the children, his buggy was broken and the milk would sour before it could reach town. Would they take it?
Faith like that doesn’t come from mans gospel but from the gospel revealed by Christ and imprinted by the Holy Spirit. As we are bombarded with celebrity preachers and Christian stores filled with Christian how to books, let us not forget, but always remember that the only thing we really truly need ….. is the true love letter of the creator Himself, the saving grace of His Son. The guiding transforming power of His Spirit.
