Exodus 3-4: I Will Be With You
We have all heard the story of the plagues and Moses. We know what happens. We bite our nails and sit on the edge of our seats as Egypt is ransacked with plague after plague and we wait. We wait and watch, waiting for the people to be set free. We cry for Pharaoh when he realizes he has brought about the death of his own son and we cheer as God's people finally, after 400 years walk out of Egypt a free nation.
But today none of that has happened yet. Moses meets God and heads into Egypt. And like so many of us, he says no. No, nope, no thank you. I can’t. I don’t think so. I’m not quite right for the job. Not qualified. Thanks but no thanks. And God says what he says to all of us - I will be with you. And that’s all we need. And we can do wonders because the God of creation is with us, holding our hand and rooting for us. He is using us to accomplish his goals and who are we to say no to that?
So buck up buttercup! Put on your big kid underwear and get to work! Because with God working through you, you can’t help but win in the end!
