Am I God’s or Satan’s? (Eph. 2:1-10)

I like to think I am a reasonable person. I think clearly, listen when presented with options, and am a fair boss and business partner. I always strive to do what is best not only for my business but for the people who I employ and serve.

But I am not my own god. And I am the servant of another and am held accountable to another. I have to filter all of my actions and decisions through what my God has to say. In the end, so are all of us. We like to go about our lives as if we are in control and serve only ourselves, but the Bible is very clear on this. We are servants of either satan or God. Everything we do is in service to one of these entities (for lack of a better word), one being the rightful ruler and creator of heaven and earth and the other an imposter, liar, and deceiver who has been given jurisdiction over earth for a time. Now, if you see earth as your home, go for it and serve the ruler of earth. BUT if earth is a way station and you are sojourning on your way to your everlasting home with Jesus, be careful to hold onto your allegiance to your rightful master. You are a created being. You were made to serve. Every action you make is designed to serve and will serve either earths prince, satan; or the King of Kings, God. It all comes down to where you would like your eternity to be played out? Not sure which you belong to? Which does your life look like today?

"And you were once dead in the trespasses and sins which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience - among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of our body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God being rich in His mercy, because of the great love, with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,.... by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, for good works, which God, prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

If your life isn't what you would say, a servant or apprentice of Jesus, following God and saved by His grace; you are indeed a servant of satan. But Jesus made it a free gift to come to God and be saved. I would encourage you to, if you would like your life here to serve the true God and your eternity to be in Heaven, and it currently isn't, find a local church, message me here, find a trusted friend who you know walks with Jesus. Solidify your allegiance today. Start walking on the winning side.
