1 John 4: It Shows in Love

To know God is to confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh and is from God. Those that do not confess this are the Antichrist and are in this world and understand this world and listen to this world. But “you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Vs 4

This is what gives you the ability to love! Because love is from God (vs 7) and whoever loves has been borne of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not love God. This is not the love that we see on the Bachelor or read about in romance novels or watch on the hallmark channel. This is the love that lays down a life, that gives up all comfort for the safety of another. Because while we were still sinners God sent His son who willingly laid down his life for us. Simply put vs 19 states, “We love because He first loved us.” We cannot love God and hate another believer, it is impossible. How do I know? God tells me. Vs 20, “If anyone says, ‘I love God’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.” My prayer for you today is that you love. That you look into the eyes of those you are with and see God! He made them and loves them just as He did you.
