1 Corinthians 15: We have an Obligation
14 “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.15 We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised.“
God raised Christ from the dead. If He did not, the whole foundation of our faith falls apart! Not only was Christ raised from the dead, he appreadres to over 509 people at one time as well as the apostles. He didn’t sneak into a room and say “shh, don’t tell anyone but here I am!” He was out there for all to see! We have to believe that if we are to proclaim our salvation. That is the ONE. That is the most important foundational piece. Without that, our faith, our belief falls apart. The Corinthians knew the gospel message! They had Paul himself teaching them, and yet they let themselves lose focus. Don’t we all? They allowed division and debate to ruin the one thing Christ was teaching, the one most important thing - LOVE. And in all that they lost focus. They quote (and I bet you didn’t know this was scripture 😉) directly from Isaiah in vs 32 when they say “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.” 🤦🏼♀️. But Paul goes on to remind them in 33-34 “Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company ruins good morals’. Wake up from your drunken stupor, as is right, and do not go on sinning. For some have no knowledge of God. I say this to your shame.”
once we have this foundation and believe the gospel message, are saved. We are called as Christ followers to LOVE, to be Christ’s representatives on this earth. He has risen and will come again And we have faith that we will be with Him in eternity. We have work to do and we are NOT to align ourselves with the ways of this world. Shame on us if we do, we then are hindering the non believers from knowing and thus being saved. Set the example, be the example. And do all these things in love.
