1 Corinthians 13 (part 1) It’s All About Love

Updated: Jun 9

“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.” That’s about the crux of it really isn’t it? It’s all about love. For Christ knows it all. He spoke and the world came into existence. He knows every single hair on your head, every thought you have and will ever speak, every grain of sand on the shore. He has infinite wisdom. But it’s just wisdom. It was love that came down and humbled himself to be like us. It was Love that cleansed the leper, put mud on the blind man and made him see, drove demons from Mary and restored dignity to the prostitutes. It was Love that said, “let the children come to me” and told us to love those who hate us instead of an eye for and eye. It was Love that brought light to the darkness and taught us a new way…. love. It was love that held his tongue as he endured the cat of nine tails, blow after blow and He took our sinful thoughts from us. It was Love that held silent as the whip sang through the air demanding restitution for the sins we will still commit. It is Love that looks you in the eye and says “It is finished”. He loves you and asks just one thing…. That you share the same love. John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”❤️
