1 Corinthians 10 How are You Doing?

Be careful. You can think you are doing well. You can think you are doing great ~ compared to the next person. But “let anyone who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” We all will get hit and when we do, we are blind sided “wow, I never saw that coming!” Or “I never thought I’d do that.” Take heart my friend, the God of the universe knows that too. “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation will also provide a way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (13-14)

Still, being the sinful beings we are, oftentimes we don’t remember that until we look back with hindsight. And then we either will shake our heads, or be riddled with regret. That’s where grace comes in.

I am so glad for grace. Knowing that 1) I will mess up and do...daily. And 2) that when I do, I can go to my Father and He is there. He knows, He understands. And He forgives - fully.

3) I get to start again. My slate is clean.

I want to learn from Him. I want to be that to the people in my life. He calls us to be Christ to those around us. What does that look like? I believe that means true forgiveness and grace. Forgiveness meaning I do not harbor bitterness in my heart and I can move on with my life with truly nothing but love in my heart for you. Also that for those whom it is wise to actually have community with, there is daily grace.

“All things are lawful, but not all things are helpful. All things are lawful but not all things build up. Let no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor.” Be that example, thank God for His grace, and rest in the knowledge that when tempted you can handle it; God has provided you with all you need!
